7/19 Recap

AAA - Richmond 0, Ottawa 7
Lance Cormier (L, 3-1) ended a string of good starts by giving up 7 runs in 6 innings. Paul Bush pitched 2 perfect innings of relief with 2 strikeouts. Gregor Blanco, Martin Prado, and Carlos Mendez were the only Richmond players to get hits.

High A - Myrtle Beach 0, Wilmington 1 (11)
The red hot Pelican's offense was completely shut down by Wilmington. Carl Loadenthal was 0-5. Kala Kaaihue went 0-4 with 3 strikeouts. Van Pope went 0-2 but did manage to walk 3 times. On the good side, Luis Atilano made another good start as he tossed 7 shutout innings with 5 strikeouts. Michael Nix pitched 2 shutouts innings before Devin Anderson (L, 1-2) gave up the winning run in the 11th.

Rookie - Danville 8, Bristol 5
Phillip Britton broke out of a slump with 4 hits and 3 RBI's. Every starter had a hit but Willie Cabrera who went 0-3. Larry Williams was 2-6 to keep his average at .330. Tommy Hanson was impressive for his 5 innings as he did not give up a run on only 3 hits while striking out 6 with no walks. His ERA is now 2.82. Dave Williams blew his first save of the season when he gave up one run in 2 innings. James Curtis (W, 2-0) pitched the final 2 innings for the win.

GCL Braves 1, Indians 3
Starter, Steve Kent (L, 1-1), gave up 2 runs in 3 innings but his ERA still stands at 1.50. Sean White pitched 4 shutouts innings while striking out 4. Adam Coe went 1-4 with a double but his average is down to .267 after a red hot start. Wes Timmons went 1-4 and is hitting .316 in his rehab assignment.
